The Gèneve-Cannes rally, as we explained in a previous post, is an experience, and if you want to participate in the category of precision regularity we make some recommendations so you can go well prepared if you choose to take the Blunik device as a tool for copilotation:

• We have to synchronize the Blunik clock with the official time of the rally. Having a slightly different time than the official would penalize us in each secret control even if we made the perfect regularity.

• You have to do the calibration correctly. Remember that the Blunik calibration parameter is called “WHEEL DIAMETER” (Blunik II) or “CALIBRATION” (Blunik II Plus).

  Calibrating with Blunik is very easy. We just have to follow the guidelines indicated on the instruction sheet. Ideally, do the calibration tour once and at the end do the calibration. Then tour the route a second time to verify that the calibration is correct.

  Note: Always carry the instruction sheet inside the car; in moments of nerves it is very useful.

• Each section has an average speed to follow, which we will most likely be able to choose before starting the section. Therefore you need to program each section with the correct average. You can watch a video of how to program sections and sectors in this link.

  Note: If you don't know the total distance of the stage, put 30km, the real stretch will make less.

• The last thing that needs to be done is to ponder the start Key parameter to make a synchronized Start. It is the easiest way to synchronize your departure with the exact minute, second and tenth that the commissioner or your roadmap gives you. We will set the parameter “START KEY” = Synchro. Now we can press START when there are a few seconds left of our exit, and Blunik will register the exit in the second 00.0.

  Note: You can check the time the Blunik has taken once you are inside the section by pressing the STAGE key twice and it will show you the programming of the section you are doing.

Using Blunik is easy, the difficulty of the test is to follow the regularity. In the Gèneve-Cannes 2019 edition the dorsal car 15 was premiered in the use of Blunik and when we explained these four indications it improved greatly in its scores: it went from being the last one in the first stage to being first in stage 5.
