Regularity is going through a great moment. Each season, new rallies, new organizations and more ways to compete keep appearing.
But this growth also brings a challenge. There is more event offering, and it is not always easy to increase the number of participating teams. That is why many organizers are looking for new formulas to give their events more value.
Most closed-road rallies today combine different disciplines: modern car speed, classic car speed and Sport Regularity. This allows the same event to bring together very different types of enthusiasts and lets each team choose the format that best fits their goals.
In this context, initiatives such as the RallyeCup VHRS make a lot of sense.
A championship committed to quality
The RallyeCup VHRS was created in 2023 with a very clear idea: to bring together under one championship the rallies that share the same philosophy.
Today it already brings together more than thirty events across France and has become the only national championship dedicated exclusively to Historic Sport Regularity Vehicles (VHRS).
The goal is not only to create an overall ranking. It is also about adding value to each event, building community and offering teams an attractive calendar where each rally contributes to a larger sporting project.
Participants can freely choose which rallies to enter, and only the five best results of the season will count. This allows each team to adapt the calendar without losing the chance to fight for the final classification.
Sport Regularity, a discipline that increasingly attracts more teams
At Blunik, we have been closely following the evolution of Sport Regularity for many years.
For some teams, it is the gateway into the world of closed-road rallies.
For others, it is the way to keep enjoying competition when speed no longer fits the budget, the available time or simply personal priorities.
But there is also a profile we know especially well. Many of our clients have spent years doing regularity on open roads and, sooner or later, there comes a time when they want to try new sensations. They already master precision, understand regularity and are looking for a different challenge.
Sport Regularity is, probably, the most natural step.
It keeps the essence of regularity, but adds a much more dynamic component. The driver has to work more on driving, the co-driver also remains central, and with good reconnaissance preparation and a solid execution with pace notes, it becomes key.
It is another way to experience rallies.
The adrenaline of pace notes... with less risk
One of the things that most surprises teams trying Sport Regularity is the feeling inside the car.
The roads are the same ones used by speed competitors, but the objective is completely different.
With today’s GPS systems, the co-driver can prepare recce better, take notes more calmly and help the driver anticipate each corner.
In a way, it comes very close to the dynamic of calling pace notes typical of speed. But with one very important difference. Sport Regularity allows you to enjoy this experience while significantly reducing the risks, with lower technical/budget demands on the car and with an unmistakable regularity spirit.
That is why every season more teams make this move.
Much more than a classification: a season with added value
Joining the RallyeCup means adding extra value to the entire season. With a very affordable annual fee, teams enter a ranking for drivers and co-drivers, separated by average speed categories (high, intermediate and low), where only the five best results count.
Participants can also enjoy discounts on rally entry fees, qualify for the final prizes in each category and receive the championship’s official merchandise.
After each event, the standings are updated on the RallyeCup website and VHC Magazine publishes summaries, photos and championship updates.
Beyond the results, the RallyeCup has also succeeded in creating a very active Facebook community, where teams share experiences, connect with each other and keep living the season from one rally to the next.
